Frederico Fernandes is an accomplished aviation and tourism consultant and investor hailing from Portugal and based in Dubai. He currently serves as an Associate Partner at WIZE, a leading aviation and tourism consulting firm headquartered in the United Arab Emirates, as well as the General Manager of Vports in the Middle East. Frederico's record includes serving as a project partner and member of the investor committee for Vista Startup Hub, an innovative initiative located at the Dubai Airshow. He is also a board member and director of the Arab Aviation Summit and a co-founder of NewsAvia, a leading aviation news source in Portuguese-speaking countries. One of Frederico's most significant achievements to date has been his leadership of GIAS, the world-leading investment in aviation platform, which was a United Arab Emirates Federal Initiative promoted by the United Arab Emirates General Civil Aviation Authority. Under his direction, GIAS secured over 300 million dollars in investment attraction by connecting the world's best aviation projects in need of financing with investors, thereby supporting the UAE's ambitious plans to lead, innovate, and disrupt the aviation sector. Frederico is deeply committed to advancing investment in the transportation and tourism sector, with a particular focus on driving sustainable and carbon-free solutions. He is passionate about leveraging his expertise to support the industries in their evolution and growth.
