Capt. W. Patrick Gordon has been serving as Advisor to His Excellency Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Chairman of Royal Jet, for the past 17 years. With vast experience in the aviation industry his previous tenures included managerial and advisory posts in Aviation Operations, Training and Safety in the UAE, KSA , Africa, South America, USA and Canada.

Between 1990 and 2000, Captain Gordon was working for Amiri Flight (now called Presidential Flight), in Abu Dhabi. During these ten years, Captain Gordon was Flight Safety Officer for nine airplanes and Training Captain for 14 pilots on Gulfstream IIIs and Falcon 900s, in addition to providing international support for the ruling family, government officials and foreign heads of state.

Prior to this, Captain Gordon was the Aviation Manager/Chief Pilot at Tenet HealthCare Corporation, based in the USA and Aviation Advisor/Chief Pilot to the Deputy Ministry of Petroleum for Mineral Resources in Jeddah, KSA. Captain Gordon has also held senior management positions with Imperial Aviation, Inc. and Avex Corporation both based in the USA.

Captain Gordon is an Airline Transport Pilot in both airplanes and helicopters. He holds a Master’s Degree in Aeronautical Science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, USA and has completed ‘Managing the Corporate Aviation Function’ at the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Management. Captain Gordon has a number of articles published concerning international operations and management in the aviation industry.
