Director - Space Policy and Regulations

After graduating from the University of Southern California with B.S. in Electrical Engineering (Telecom &Network) in 2004, Naser Al Rashedi joined a newly established and exciting federal organization, the Telecommunication Regulatory Authority in beginning of 2005 looking after the Regulatory and Policy Issues related to Media, Information and Communication Technologies at both National and International Levels.

In mid-2007 he was sent for Mission in Geneva to represent the UAE Administration at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in Geneva, where he continued his Mission until late 2012. Due to the nature of the work Naser had the opportunity to participate and contribute to several national, regional, and international activities in relation to ICT Regulations.

He was involved in many of the international coordination and negotiations, and contributed to number of ICT international policies and agreements by participating in over 300 international conferences, meetings, and activities; where he also held several regional and international leadership positions. In 2010 Naser obtained his Master Degree from the Geneva Institute for Graduate Studies on International Negotiation and Policy Making on Cyber Security. He joined newly established National Electronic Security Authority in 2012 to pursue his passion on cyber security and be able to serve his beloved country, the UAE.

During his career at NESA, he had the opportunity to play a key role in the development of national policies, standards, and regulations related to cyber security and protection of information infrastructure. In 2015 Naser joined the team of the newly established UAE Space Agency, where he is now fulfilling his duties as the Director of National Space Policy and Regulations.
